The founder

Oliver Williams trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Patsy Rodenburg and went on to perform with the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the Royal Court — over 450 performances across the West End, Europe, and in film.

In 2009, he brought the disciplines of professional performance into the corporate sector, building a fifteen-year coaching practice with senior leaders across finance, law, technology, and global business — including professionals at HSBC, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Bloomberg, and Google.

A serious student of classical rhetoric, Oliver applies enduring principles of persuasion and argument to the modern boardroom and investor room.

Why this background matters

High-stakes presentations demand more than clear thinking and strong material. They demand presence, vocal authority, composure under scrutiny, and the ability to hold a room.

These are performance disciplines. They have been studied and taught for centuries. And they can be coached with precision, when the person coaching them has spent a career mastering them, first on stage, and then in the rooms where business is won and lost.

That principle is the foundation of everything Serious Presentations delivers.

What the work has achieved

Global law firm

Prepared the candidate who was subsequently appointed to the firm's highest leadership position — the first person of Asian heritage to hold the role — through the competitive interview and selection process.

Alternative asset manager

Long-term coaching relationship with the CEO — preparation for client presentations, investor meetings, town halls, and panels. Coached the firm's investment teams to present and defend their ideas with clarity and conviction.

Advocacy training body

Three consecutive years coaching trainee barristers for high-pressure courtroom advocacy, with consistent recognition from presiding judges.

Consumer technology company

Coached the presentation team and COO for a major product reveal to a live audience, filmed for broadcast.

Private clients

Ongoing one-to-one coaching for CEOs and senior executives across finance, law, and business — sustained relationships built around the demands of their roles.

What clients value

Clients come to Serious Presentations when they need to communicate expertise in ways sophisticated audiences trust, and when the room demands more than strong material alone:

  • Project authority and presence in demanding rooms.

  • Speak with clarity and conviction under pressure.

  • Handle scrutiny, challenge, and Q&A with composure.

  • Present as a cohesive, well-rehearsed, and credible team.

The work is practical, bespoke, and discreet.

If you are preparing for a moment that matters, an initial conversation is the best place to start.
